Leadership tracks and keynote sessions
Plenary and leadership sessions cover the sustainability reporting business case, emerging and capital markets, license to operate, supply chain issues, policy and best practice, SMEs, community and society and the use of the GRI Guidelines.

Over 120 leading speakers from business, civil society, labor and government will participate.  They include former USA Vice-President Al Gore, Chair of Anglo American Sir Mark Moody-Stuart, European Commission Vice-President Margot Wallström and many others.

A sample of sessions from Thursday 5 October includes:

• Dan Gagnier of Alcan looking at return on investment from sustainability reporting;
• ABN Amro’s Herman Mulder leading a session on how sustainability reporting informs capital markets;
• Emerging markets and reporting development progress; and
• License to operate and valuing global sustainability impacts.

The final day of the conference, Friday 6 October, includes:

• Mervyn King chairing the corporate governance session on how sustainability contributes in the board room;
• A session on the relative merits of voluntary or mandatory approaches to reporting;
• Jacqueline Aloisi de Larderel leading a discussion of SMEs – are they too small to report?
• A best practice session examining innovative examples of sustainability reporting from around the world,
• The new G3 Guidelines and their implementation.
• Keynote sessions with Margot Wallström, Al Gore, Hugh Y. Scott-Barrett, Mark Moody-Stuart and Job Cohen.
